Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The label debuted her first EP, Pho, in October 2016, and she was able to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It was released on May 19, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music to the Internet in 2012 after she dropped her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox release her single Bound, as well as her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. In 2015, she was featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. it out on 21st July. Later that year her music began to circulate all over the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some references for Rihanna. The news was released on December 8, she signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution for The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. The 21st of October, 2016, she released her debut EP entitled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer for J. Cole on his song Change in 2017 and also performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. She also appeared in 2018 on two songs alongside her label-mates EarthGang for Nothing but the Best. And Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video for it was released on September 5th. The 9th of November saw her release two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Two singles more were released by her on 11/13, titled Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, the 26th of February, 2019, to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby was featured alongside Cole in her Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. On February 20, 2019, a music clip was released to promote the song. It already has over 3 millions views on YouTube in its initial week. In December of 2018 the singer was a part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
