Kim Delaney has won Emmy Awards for her performance as the character Detective Diane Russell. Her other credits include her roles in the drama All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. Delaney was the only girl of her mother who was a homemaker and high-ranking executive of her union, the United Auto Workers. Delaney spent most of her childhood with her four brothers. When she was a little girl, she wanted to become a reporter for the court. But in highschool the time came when she began modeling for commercials and after moving New York. In her teens her first appearance as an actress came in the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. Delaney's career has been filled with a variety of television shows and dramas. Personally, her professional has not had a happy and successful. The accomplished actress battled the effects of alcohol and two marriages that failed. In 2005, she lost custody of the only child she was born with.
